Born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised in New York City, Maylin Castro is a multi-hyphenate artist whose work has graced national stages and platforms. With an unwavering passion for storytelling and a dedication to impactful creation, her journey has intertwined with some of the most dynamic artistic companies and organizations in the industry.
As a theater-maker and creator, Maylin has been recognized for her innovative contributions, receiving accolades such as the Leon Levy Award and earning fellowships and residencies with esteemed organizations like A.R.T, Indiefund and Fieldday.
As a performer, her work has spanned regional theaters and major markets including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. She has appeared on notable stages such as NYTW, The Living Theater, Primary Stages, Orlando Shakes. On screen, Maylin's credits include Animal Kingdom (TNT). The Village (NBC).
Rooted in a commitment to social justice and socio-political awareness. Maylin's artistry seeks to bridge pressing issues with the lived experiences of communities. Her work in theater and film work is a testament to the power of creativity as a catalyst for change and connection.
In 2020, she founded Angel Falls Theater Productions, which has brought both theater and film projects to life, grounded in these principles.
She is currently working on Classically Obsessed an Audio Drama Series for the Gothic and Storytelling lovers.
